      T56 with 2:29 First Gear

Does anyone know of someone who has the T56 with the new ZR1 TR6060 gears in them? I am really looking for that combination for my 69 SBC 427. I currently have a TKO 600 and do not like 1st and 2nd gear. I have a 4:10 Moser 12 bolt and do not want to change it. I think the ZR1 gears would be perfect for what I am looking for. Any thoughts out there? Thanks

Rockland Standard has a 2.29 box available.

Finally pulled the trigger on the Baby Transzilla from Rockland Standard Gear. Got the close ratio 2.29 first gear box. Fed Ex dropped it off this afternoon. Also got the Quick Time manual clutch bell, that allows you to use the LS t56 without any adapters. Hope to have in the car in a week or so. I will give an up date when done, but could not be more pleased in the support from Rockland and American Powertrain. Thanks

Got the trans installed and could not be more pleased with the gears. With my 4.10 rear gear, the 2.29 close ratio is a blast to drive. I had minor issues with the install. I had to trim a small place on the Quick Time Bell for the deep sump oil pan. The drain is on the back of the sump, so I had to trim a small place on the flange of the bell so that I could get the drain plug out when changing the oil. Also had a small interference with the throw-out brg collar and the Quick Time bell. Was not a problem to fix once we saw the issue, but it took 3 installs to find it. Thank goodness for transmission jacks! I went with the tremec magnum shifter that comes with the trans. Located about 2.5 inches rearword of the TKO600. I relocated the console about 2.5 inches back and slightly to the passenger side, and every thing works great. The rubber rivet nuts worked like a charm to move the console. Thanks to the forum for that idea. The X factor aluminum cross member worked OK. I had to shim the trans up to get the angle correct for the driveshaft. Also had to trim the tunnel for the tran install. About a 6"X12"hole in the forward tunnel/firewall. Did not like the idea of cutting the car, but one good thing is that it will make the next cut easier. Maybe DSE mini tub time? They are just up the road a few miles. Could be a new project for next winter. Thanks for all the help from all that post on the board. Reactor
