1st Gen Custom Valance

I see a bunch of people piecing in 69 lights into their 67/68 valances. I have been thinking on the idea myself admitedly.

Has anyone modified their lower valance by closing up the opening completely and then cutting out holes and using pipe welded on as a recessed light housing?

You see alot of todays newer cars with recessed lights in the lower valances done similar to this idea. I was thinking the biggest challenge would be to get the pipe cut to follow the valance line and be vertical where the light mounts in on the backside.

I modified a lower valance, with the intentions of adding '69 lights. This is an old pic, I've since completely welded and smoothed, but have not cut any holes. I think I'm going to do something different since so many people are using the '69 light openings. I want something different now....

Yeah thats my thoughts also, hence thinking of recessing some driving lights into the valance instead of a 69 light graft.
