      my 1966 fastback conversion mustang

Hi guys this is the project thread of what has been my dream car since I was 5. I started with a 66 coupe and will be making it into a fastback. But I'm only 18 and I have to buy the parts on my own which sucks. Especially Since I only make 330 a week. But anyway. At first It will be a frame off restoration with aftermarket rims and such, until its complete and I can save up the money for the ridetech stage 1 kit, global west control arms, swaybars, t5 tranny, 347 stroker, and my stereo. I'm going with Baer brakes with velocity r budnik wheels. Here's what I got so far. The paint will be red with white stripes and theme of a modern interpertation gt 350 replica interior and exterior.

      a hour later

I metal brushed the seat frames seeing as I'm going to use them until I can get Corbeau's

front and rear valance, fastback filler panel and my floor pans on the way.

This is all I got for now. Waiting on more $$$.

Man can't wait to see coupe to fastback conversion. I'd love to do that to my 67.

So I got a 8" out of a v8 66 stang. Im in the middle of tearing it apart here is a pic of what i started with. I'm going with 31 splined axles 3.55 gears and 03 cobra 11.5" disc on the rear.

Also on the 66 fastback its much easier than the 67 seeing as the roof isn't half as long on the 66. The 67 is completely differnt from doorframe back.

wow, that's going to be a lot of work. Good luck with it.
I thought about converting a coupe to a fast back myself.

Thanks for all the feedback. My dad actually is allowing me to restore cars out of his other shop to make extra cash and I've been puttin in about 70 hours a week on a 71 and 70 c10 I'm working on. The 71 I'm doing for a little cash and a free foxbody mustang for my drivetrain. The 70 c10 I'm making 25$ a hour so hopfully they will turn out good and allow me to pick up more buisness to support my car.
