Painless Wiring total fail or salvageable?
I'm at a crossroads with my '68 Camaro RS. I purchased a Painless Wiring harness some time ago and have been installing it over the past several months as time has permitted. The installation has been very frustrating and I think I've reached my limit.
First thing first, when I bought it quite some time ago there was not a lot else on the market and there was not a PW harness for a RS.
I've muscled my way through adapting for a 1 wire high output alternator, and gotten through the maze of relocating gauge wires from the instrument panel to the RS console.
Now, onto the console and I've reached my limit. Long story short, the console originally has a 12 position connector - the PW kit has 5 wires to the console. After reconfiguring the instrument panel gauges to the console there is still no correlation that I can come up with to make it work with the RS console.
Any suggestions? Encouraging words? Creative ideas? Or do I yank the Painful Wiring kit and start over with something else?
