Nice Doug! I really want some more time behind the wheel of mine, I should be able to drive it for a little while, while I look for a parts car.

      Thanks for the compliment!!

After driving it all weekend I have decided to get rid of the huge cowl hood. The Kirkey seats I have in there now sit much lower than my last ones and I am having a lot of trouble seeing to the right. In an autoX that would be bad!!!

I think I am going to look into a new air cleaner since mine is way to big for a stock hood......

Any other ideas on how to "lower the engine" ?

I've heard that an LSx sits pretty low in our cars...

Thinking of going back to a stock hood or a more "mild" cowl (Perhaps a 2")?

I want to put the stock hood back on...the time of the cowl has passed.

Other than a drop base air cleaner or lower intake, it would be custom engine mounts... but then you might have oil pan clearance issues and your exhaust will hang lower.

Or, spectre makes intake parts that allow you to use charge tubes and cone filters.

A 2" cowl looks perfect IMO.

I actually contacted Brandy at Spectre about those cone filter kinda intakes. You think they would hurt air flow on a carb set up?

I doubt it. I guess you could compare the filter area of two cones to that of your 14" open element.

I doubt that filter area would be the limiting factor.

More likely it'll be the height of the hat vs how easily you can get the airflow to make that 90° turn to go straight down the carb throats.

Yeah the hat I would need top use would be the "low profile" one and I think that would hurt my performance.....plus the added weight of the stock steel hood!!

I got my new "880" Autox numbers on!!

I found this picture over on montecarloss.com. Pretty cool effect on the pic!!!

The last video was taken during my last run of the day and I just wanted to see how far I could push my car. Oversteer got the best of me and around she went!!

Jealous, your getting to drive your car and mine is still apart....... I just don't feel like driving it without bumper fillers and a Alky pump! LOL

So what's the verdict? Did the new seats keep your fanny planted or what? Looked smooth and fun.

Thanks for posting. Everyday on my lunch break I watch a couple autoX or road course vids to keep me motivated since I'm pretty well ready to shoot my car. You've saved the Pumkinator for at least one more day...lol!

Woohoo! Looks like a blast and the car seems to be running fast and smooth.

In the first vid looks like the camera needed to lay off the LSD though, lol!

That stuff really keeps me pumped. I'm getting real close to driving my car, hope it's even half as cool as yours. Thanks for sharing!
