      Which would you do...

I need some help. I can't choose (I have a '70 chevelle w/vinyl top) the color I want. I am in between blue with black stripes or black with white.
And if you think blue, tell me what color blue you might think would look good.

      Thanks Brent

Let's get crazy, I don't recall seeing a black car with blue stripes. I suggest this because you have a vinyl top...in black I'm guessing. If you paint the car blue and it has a black top, the emphasis will be taken away from the stripes and the focus could be more on the top. Painting it black will give the "illusion" that the car is solid black, and the focus would be on some bright pearly blue stripes(that's what I see anyway). Every 70 I've ever seen has white stripes.(that's 2 btw, lol). Remember this is all JMHO.

Nevertheless, back on track. Choosing between your options....blue with black. As far as suggesting a color, there's too many.

      Brent,
I'd say ditch the vinyl top and then it will look better with any of the two combos your looking to go with...I'd personally do blue with white stripes but thats just my opinion. (we all know what those are worth)

I like the blue with black stripes and if you ditched the vinyl top not saying you should you could go with white stripes! as for the blue color the ford SVT electric blue looks good, it is a very bright color!

      Blue w/black IMO

We painted a car for comp cams a while back that is still not finished it was a yellow but it had a painted on vinyl top looked great it was just black but then we went in and airbrushed chrome around it it looked killer I am sure when it is done it will be in some ads!

I would go blue w/ black stripes. A black car is a nightmare to maintain. I would also loose the vinyl top but thats up to you. The nicest blue I have ever seen is the same color Steve used on his 69 Camaro. I always forget it but I think it is a Subaru color. I would say Steve is the man when it comes to blue and its his favorite color.
I know there is a blue thread somewhere that will probably have tons of information.

I think blue/black would look real good. My ideas for the blue have been/are: Toyota Rav4...(not to Royal, not too dark Navy)...looks great in the light. Also newer Camaros and Corvettes had a pretty nice blue. Maybe even ghost stripes done in a pewter/graphite color? Just an idea.

I'd lose the vinyl top and go with the black / blue stripes. That should look really cool. Just go with a really deep blue.
