      Alignment dowels not seating?!?

Trying to set up the bellhousing for my TKO600 install. Initial dial readings said I needed to order some offset dowels. Ordered up the 0.014 offset dowels from RobbMC. Went to install last night and this is the result. They don't seem to be seating all the way in the block. Is this an issue? Any input is greatly appreciated.

I think it is a problem, because your bellhousing (or block saver plate) will be on the wrong part of the dowel.

I'm not sure if I inserted my offset dowels the best way, but I used lube, and wood + a hammer.

I tried beating them in gently (is that possible?). Spoke with RobbMC to verify it was ok to mill then down. They are at the machine shop now. I will pick them up Monday and move on...
