Pro-Crastinator: 1955 Nomad
I just joined Pro-Touring.com a few weeks ago and as I said in the Welcome Thread - (Pro-Touring Brick), I am working on a 1955 Nomad.
This project started some 10 years ago and because of "work" it became a "Pro-Crastinator" car more than a Pro-Touring car.
But after meeting some new people this past year at the Scottsdale Goodguys we have changed our whole direction on what we wanted to do with our Nomad. After talking with Phil from the Roadster Shop and Mike and Steve from Ring Brothers, we decided to start all over with our Nomad and build a classic car with modern performance.
So out went the modified original chassis, LT-1, and six speed.
Starting over we got a new Roadster Shop chassis with 14 inch 6 piston Wilwoods, 9 inch Ford rear end with 3:89 gears, and Ride Tech shocks. A Tremec six speed arrived from Hurst Driveline and then finally, after waitng for months, the LSX 454 from Scoggins-Dickey. I am currently laying out all the plumbing now since Hector at Rick's hot Rod Shop installed my gas tank.
I am working on the body work right now, so I hope to be ready for upholstery by this summer. I will keep photos coming as I progress.
