      Wheels on 69 TA

Why would the wheels that fit on a stock rear ended Camaro with 5.5" BS not fit a 69 TA with stock rear end? Thought they were the same width. From guessing they would need to have 4.5" bs. Would work with 1" spacers. Any clues?

It may have to do with the lines of the fender/inner fender lip.

Off that theory the TA would have to be set out a whole inch wider on each side. Which the rear quarters are untouched. And the wheels fit how they are supposed to on a camaro. Just need to know if TA rear end is narrower

Remember Pontiac "Wide Track"? The Firebird has a 1" wider rear. So you need a 6" BS instead of a 5.5. Which BTW, most cast wheels do not come in. if you measure hub to hub on the firebird rear it should be 61 1/2", the Camaro is 60 1/2"

I just had this exact conversation with a Firebird owner and the wheel dealer screwed up and assumed a Camaro fitment would work.
