      EGR delete

Hey everyone. Wanted to put a pair of BBK shorty headers on my '93 Z28 but the egr tubes on the original exhaust manifolds are rusted frozen. Thought about cutting them off an replacing them but they are discontinued and seem hard to find. Talked to the guys at the local speed shop and they said to do an egr delete process but wouldn't give me any more info unless I took my car to them and let them do it. I want to do this myself so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
The engine is stock except for a trick-flow cold air induction and k&n filter.

      Thanks for the help.

I don't know if this will apply to your 93 Z28, but with the Painless Wiring harness I have for the LT1, it says that as long as the EGR solenoid is connected, the computer doesn't know if the actual valve is there. This is for the 94-95 Computer so I don't know how this will affect your 93. Might be worth checking into.

Part of doing the EGR delete besides bolting on a block off plate is programming the computer to not look for, or expect to see the signal, and also controls the air bypass solenoids that work with the air pump. I put a 89' TPI motor in my 70' camaro so all of that stuff came off and the computer now doesn't know the difference.

The computer experts here hopefully will chime in and give a better explanation than I did.
      1970 RS/SS350 139K on the clock:
89 TPI motor w/ 1pc rear seal coupled to a Viper T56 via Mcleod's modular bellhousing w/ hydraulic T/O bearing from the Viper, 12 bolt rear w/ 3.73 gearing, SC&C upper control arms, factory lowers with Delalums, C5 brakes at all four corners, Front Wheels 17x8's with Sumi 255/40/17 and Rear Wheels 17x9's with Sumi 275/40/17.
