Do i have a problem???
I have a flat tappet SBC with about 2500 miles on it. I changed the oil after break in, then twice since. Every time I find the oil looks metallic, and I find very small bits of debris. I'm about to cut the filter open, I know I'll find alot more.
When is the motor really "broken in" with a flat tappet? I'm sure theres wear especially with the cam, but this is the 3rd oil change and it looks the same as the 1st.
I am using Rotella with a redline additive. I've done alot of other motors, but I don't remember the oil looking like this.
