      Track Width?

Looking for recommendations on how wide of rearend should I go with. I don't have any wheels yet, but I am planning on going w/ at least an 18x10 on the rear for sure. Should I just stay with the stock axle width, or go a little narrower. I am building a 9in w/ truck arm suspension to go in place of stock. This is all on a Monte Carlo SS. I have done a 1.5" mini tub on both sides. I want to run some where around a 305 width tire.

Any and all help is appreciated.
      Thanks, jmarti81

I would set the track as wide as you can while not having the tire hit the wheel lip and leaving enough room for tire movenment. Remember to take into account bump induced camber with your stick axle in you design. From there you can get your BS. A BS that puts the mounting flange in the centerline of the wheel is a good idea. By doing that you minimize the stresses on your axle bearings. You then can find your axle width.
