T56 Magnum
Talked to a tech at Tremec, and if you were considering a T56 Magnum, like me
, they have made some revisions so have issued new part numbers. They've made some improvements to the counter shaft, 1st & 2nd gears, 1/2 synchro and the blocker rings, so likely best to get a new one if you can.
GM LS - TUET 11009 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, 0.80, 0.63
GM LS - TUET 11012 2.97, 2.10, 1.46, 1.00, 0.74, 0.50
They currently only have Chevy LS and Ford Modular versions, but are hoping to release the SBC/BBC version this fall.
Attached is a link to their latest brochure. They also list new adjustable offset shifters (including kits to upgrade existing shifters) and individual 5th and 6th gears to allow you to choose the OD ratios (can be dealer installed). Interestingly, they don't list the regular T56 anymore.

You can put an LSx T56 magnum behind your SBC/BBC today using your stock clutch, bellhousing and clutch linkage. I installed mine last July and love it.

Yep ... with a 1/2" thick or so adapter plate and custom extended pilot bushing you can make the LS version work on an early Chevy ... but seems to end up just a bit short to get full spline engagement for the twin-disc clutch on my AMC. The SBC / BBC version should be a better fit, so just a heads-up that it's planned for release later this year ... but we know release dates often get pushed out.
