      Brake ducting

David or Mary Pozzi, In the Camaro Performers article on your '73 the front view shows silicone hoses I assume going to the front brakes. How did you route them? I just switched front sway bars and there was enough difference that I lost my clearance. Looking for advice. Thanks in advance.

Not to sound to bush league, we scrounged up a pair of black small shop vac nozzles and mounted them low and in front of the radiator. The duct hose was then connected and run down underneath the rad support and then to the rotor backing plates. The hoses are ziptied to the front bar and various steering components to keep it in place.

It's a tight fit, nothing too pretty, but works well for what it is.

      cheers,
      Mary Pozzi

Mary, my bush league is about the same. 3 x 4 to 3" round PVC hooked to the valance opening.
I did use the turn signal opening for a second hose.

I use 2.5" silicone tubing from Pegasus. I come from the openings in the factory spoiler on my '74. I ran along the sway bar then between the bar and the steering linkage to ducts I fabricated aimed at the rotor center. My problem is that the sway bar I just installed is bent differently enough that I no longer have room between the bar and the linkage. Mary, did you run along the steering linkage to the rotor or in between?

We ran along the steering linkage, tie wrapped the hose to the outer tie rod end so it runs just inside the tie rod end then up to a backing plate I made and attaches with a hose clamp. We have a Hotchkis front bar which has a pretty good rise to clear the steering linkage. The hose runs along the tie rod and under the bar but sometimes get's squished by the bar.

Thanks David, thats the info I was looking for. I just need to see what I need to make it work. Do you have any plans on you and any of your equipment making the trip to Road America for any of the vintage races?
