      Sinister Stang Project

Hey everyone, how's it been? Been on this site for a little while now and have seen some great creations getting built. Even though my ride won't be going through such an extensive buildup like some that I have seen I thought it would be cool to make a project thread of my Mustang. So this is what I have. It's a 1998 Mustang V6 5 speed with about 90ish thousand miles on her. There isn't much I have done powerwise since I am debating what I want to do with that but I have jumped around a few times with different things. When I got her she was pretty much stock with a big import wing on her, big exhaust tips and euro lights on the rear. There were a few other things that had to go and they quickly found their way to the trash. In college, a friend of mine and I were big into minitruckin so I had ended up bagging her and shaving a lot of the exterior for a clean look. Had the work done at a shop that I was helping at when I went home for spring break and have been fixing things since then about 6 years ago. I finally just got her painted but now have some more issues to deal with that have to get fixed but 90% of the car is good. I'm just a little picky when it comes to details. So far what I have done are mainly looks, suspension, brakes, and little power stuff consisting of CAI, plugs and wires, true dual exhaust, UDPs, STB, H&R SS Springs, Tokico shocks, MMCC plates, polyurethane isolators, Steeda bumpsteer kit, crossdrilled and slotted rotors, performance pads, SS brake lines, 17X9 chrome A.R. Rebels with 275/40s all around and a 1 inch spacer in the rear to bring them out a bit in the back. I have a lot planned for it but it will take sometime. First I have to finish fixing the problems with the paint and getting some misc. exterior parts from the junk yard or ford to fix old things on it. I want to finish the suspension, switch out to some BBS type rims, work the interior a bit with some race seats and a 4pt cage or something like that, and other little pieces, and then I want to get to the power stuff. I would like to swap in a V8 preferrable an older 302 or 347 carburated and build the drive train up for it. My goal is to make a hot rod/pro-touring modern ride out of her but with old school power. Don't have a lot of pics but here are some from college to now. Haven't had a chance to get her all cleaned up and out in the sun yet since I get home from work late but here is what I have. Thanks and look forward to talking to you all.
      ~Jon~

Talked to the paint shop today and the owner told me he wants to fix the problems with the car. Said he is going to cover the costs of towing and should have the car done in a few days so we'll see. To me I find it unprofessional that you let a customer's car leave your shop uncomplete and like it did. Makes me double think about wanting him to fix it or just pay the extra to have a shop by me take care of it so that I can keep an eye on it better and all. Another fun thing I have to think about! jeez
