      National Donor Day February 14th

This is a very biased self serving plea for help. I always donated blood, blood products, and was bone marrow registered. My first license had an organ donor sticker.

Now I very unexpectedly find myself on the other side of the coin. I need your liver. A child somewhere needs your heart. Someone you don't know needs your kidney. You just don't know what signing your license means to our families, our friends, our loved ones.

Take a moment and sign the card. We appreciate it more than you ever know. Thanks!

      February 14: National Donor Day
National Donor Day encourages blood, marrow, blood stem cell and organ, eye and tissue donation. In partnership with the Saturn Corporation and the United Auto Workers Union, donation organizations provide an opportunity for all Americans to visit a Saturn dealership in their area to give blood, join the National Marrow Registry and learn about how to commit to being an organ, eye and tissue donor.

      Have A Heart....

Ok, even I didn't get the reference to Valentine' s Day or why Donate Life would pick this day.

      National Donor Day. February 14th.

Have a heart. Or give/share one if you are in the unfortunate circumstance to have to.

Sign the organ donate card if you can or choose to.

      Thanks very much!

68 Firebird which I drive the p*ss out of now. I just appreciate it much more. Sure beats rubbing it with a diaper. Ok, I still do that too.

      Gallon Guy

      Thank You Trey,

I know there is a gallon blood donor term that I can't remember right now that I'm sure you qualify for. I used to do it at every chance I got. I also did apheresis where you donate your platelets. Kick back watch a movie. Next thing you know you are on your way. The Red Cross called pretty much every other month.

I lost my cousin (best friend) to leukemia. He had a hard time getting platelets that matched. Even though we lost him it helped me to know that I was helping someone else's cousin stay alive.

He went through 3 rounds of Chemo and Radiation and just couldn't take it anymore. He saw where it was headed. Thirty four years old with two kids. Had it not been for the bone marrow transplant from our 8 year old cousin we wouldn't have had him for another year and a bit.

I was very, very close to donating bone marrow for an 8 year old girl, but in the end they found a better match.

The Red Cross won't let me donate anymore due to PSC, but they will let me give away cookies and juice.

      Have a great day!

      Scott
