      69 Firebird 18" backspacing

What's the correct backspacing for a stock first gen? I'm looking at the Coys C5 wheels in 18x8 and 18x9.5 with 235/40 front and 275/40 on the rear. The backspacing available looks like 4.5 for the front and 5.5 for the rear. I've got speed tech control arms and 2" lowered hotchkiss front springs. Stock rear, although I'll probably go with a shock crossmember to move the shocks inboard.

4.5 is not enough up front, 4.75 to 5" is what you need. 5.5 on a 9.5 is not enough on a Firebird because the Firebird rear is wider then a Camaro.

Well I want to upgrade to a chevy rear with 3.73 gears anyway, so looks like I need to do that first before I buy wheels.

Since I can't do everything at once, I was going to do wheels, rear end then brakes. But it sounds like I need to do rear end, then wheels and brakes.
