      6.2 w/ 6-Speed Auto Question??

I have a chance to pick this motor and trans up from a guy. Its a 2008 from a Escalade I think.... Anyway, low miles and complete drop out. Harness computer etc. I dont know anything about the 6-speed automatic trans! Is this any good for a swap? What is the value of the 6-Speed trans in case I only want the motor?

      Thanks,
      Travis

I think that 6 spd auto is not worth much, maybe a couple hund'y.

I could probably scrape $300 together and get East Bound and Down this weekend if you're interested. j/k

Someone will chime in, but I think you might have to work on the tunnel a little bit if you want to make it fit. it's a great tranny.
I thought you picked up a motor a month or so ago?

Hey Chief....How are you? Yes, I did get that 04 GTO motor with 2200 miles for the wifes 67 vert. Butt.....a few weeks ago I picked up a 70 camaro that was brought here from Arizona and was rust free and a screamin deal I couldnt pass up. Soooo... now Im looking for another motor. And since this car is not convertible and MINE, Im going with a bigger motor and a little more radical. I asked about the 6-speed auto value more for seeing what I could get the seller to knock off the price if I dont take it. I could also sell it if he wont seperate the two. Whats it really worth please?

The truck 6L80E has little value to a car guy. WAY to deep.

We are squeezing a 2010 Camaro 6 speed auto in a 69 next week, we will let you know how it works out.

      The 6L80E is huge.

Even if you did the tunnel mods necessary, there's not enough ground clearance.

Check out this thread for pics of an attempt to fit one in a '66 GTO:https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/sh...ighlight=6l80e

Specify the truck unit when making this statement. The car unit has a much shorter pan. We have not got it in yet, but we have the combo here and are going to try.

Thanks for the link Bart! Frank....you just reminded me of something. It is from a 4x4 as well because it also comes with the transfer case. So whats it worth on the 4x4 truck market then???

What about this....I have a 2003 Sierra 2500 HD 4x4. Has the 6.0/LQ4. Could I swap this 6L80E into my truck? would there be any benefit?

Keep in mind that as of yet there are no stand along TCM's for the 6L80E and the actual TCM is internal. In 99% of cases you would need to have a vehicle with an ECM that can both accept a 6L80E program AND be able to take the proper operating system to operate the trans.

Pretty much all of the 6L80E swaps are using the factory ECM setup that came with them such as the G8 and Camaro SS. Can be tricky even in a late model vehicle to do a swap.

man, between this thread and jakeshoe telling me about how they shift, I guess at 4L80E is looking better and better...
