      Posi trac Additive

I have a GM posi trac with 3.70 gears and it has been sitting for several years. The lube in the rear end was AmsOil gear lube and the additive from GM for the clutches. I was wondering if I go back with just the AmsOil Gear lube will I need the GM Additive.

No you don't need the additive.

Depends on which Amsoil you use. Some are made for the limited slip (posi) and some are not. The Severe Gear 75W90 is made for the limited slip. If you use it and you noitice that it does pop some then you can add the additive later. Just put in enough additive to make it stop popping. You might not need the whole bottle.
