      WTH is dodge doing

I went by the Dodge dealer today and it was the last straw. What the he!! is Dodge trying to do ruin the names of the classic muscle cars they once produced.

      I have seen dodge trucks:
Yellow with rumble bee( super bee) stripes and tags.

      Bright green with GTxtreme

Now today a copper one with a flat black wing and daytona on the back.

What is dodge tring to kill the names of some of the most well know muscle cars ever made.
I remember them doing it with the road runner in the late 70s & 80s
But that was a car. using those names on pick up trucks is totaly stupid. plus adding "ricer" wings to an open bed pick up.

What is GM came out with a pick up with 69 Z stripes or going with what dodge did a gmc pick up with judge stripes and a wing.

      Rant off

You should drive one of those trucks, they will out accelerate, out handle and out brake any of those cars they were designed to replicate.

I agree. Drive one of those trucks and you'll be thinking a little differently. Trust me. I have.

i think they're pretty cool...I’d own one. At least Chrysler is thinking out side the box these days...and they do it with style....no other auto company comes up with such fresh yet classic designs. Chrysler is putting out some of the wildest and the classiest looking cars on the market these days. The 300c is beautiful…the viper is beautiful….the new HEMI trucks are mean looking… hell even the PT cruiser brought us back to a time when car designers were artists who thought about a little more then spitting out econo-boxes. Chrysler has one hell of a design team if you ask me. Also the guys where right those trucks haul ass.

Yeah the roll back that is going on with Diamler is just the crouts( mis-spelled as not to offend, not meant to, just can't spell Jermains) having fun with the american buying public. I can't wait for the GLH Neons...BTW what so Ricey about having a wing? Rear down force is a good thing.

Mopar has alway's been known for a wing. The Plymouth superbird and Dodge Daytona are notoruious for Big wings!! Not to mention the Go-Wings on the Challengers. That's why they put them on their trucks , Neon's, and, PT Cruisers.

They are marketing the heritage of their company.. using the mystique and coolness-factor of their legendary cars to help sell new ones..

And I would say I am less offended by the new Dodge "retro touch" trucks than I was by the New Chevy Nova that was actually a Toyota or some other examples..

Remember that when the original Super Birds came out they sold very poorly, infact some dealers took of the superbird parts in a effort to sell the cars..

So true Steve. That's why the "WING CARS" are so spendy today. I love the new ride by the way. Have you checked the price on a Dodge Mirada?? Circa 1981??

Yeah, I admit when I saw those trucks I was kinda scratching my head, but by the next time I saw one I thought they were kinda cool. Something unique, a little something wild from the factory. Cheesy maaaybe, but not a bad marketing technique. If I was a Dodge truck guy, I might pick one up. Being raised as a Chevy guy and inherently being part of the GM family I'm soooo disappointed in their efforts. Caddy is kicking ass, and Pontiac is seemingly waking up, but Chevy omg....they need their ass kicked. Daimler/Chrysler and Ford are smoking right now, not smoking crack (like Chevy). They're both putting cars out there that people want or dream about. For the first time in a LONG time, a domestic brand has made me seriously consider a move from the import side of the house...it was NOT Chevy.

You are so wrong... It's definitely a picnic basket which is still better than the "Hearse for Midgets" look the other PTs have going on

What are they doing? Selling cars. Names sell. I think the trucks are cool, but I'd rather see a package like that on a car.
