Rusted doors

The doors on my firebird were blasted about 3 years ago and were left out to rust. The rust in pretty bad. My question is how far to the metal do I need to go before I can etch and seal? It's pretty close to bare right now but there are some areas that are hard to get down without using 10 inch gringer and a 16 grit pad..... LoL

get them media blasted,instead of trying to cover up some rust, it won't cost much, take them to any powdercoating place
