Guys, i am looking to record any cars that have straight cut gears, also known as Dogboxes. That loud whiny trans sound.

Straight cut gears are only straight cut gears and have nothing to do with a dogbox...

Dogboxes have dog-teeth engagement, as opposed to synchros.

A dogbox can (and a lot do) have helical cut gears.

All you want for that sound are straight cut gears, the dog teeth don't make a special sound unless you really suck at using one.
