I started it 1/1/09 and followed the program religiously for 3 straight months. The first two weeks were tough. Expect to be very sore at first. Tony Horton does a great job of explaining the routines and comes across as a very knowlegable trainer. The DVDs' are great because you can obviously pause the routine and rewind if you were not sure of something. The strength training is tough but all very manageable. The HARDEST part is adjusting your diet. You absolutely, positively need to follow the nutrition suggestions from the meal planner book that is provided. Not gonna go anywhere if you do the exercise but follow it up with a pint of Hagen-Daz. I highly recommend getting the P90 Recovery Drink. It really replenishes you after a hard work out. Besides it tastes awesome. Rarely does an energy drink taste good but this stuff is delicious. As stated in the program not a lot of equipment is needed and a chin up bar is mandatory. Follow the program to the tee and you will be thrilled with the results. The chicks on the DVDs' are hot and nobody on the program rubs you the wrong way. Tony is very funny at times. After a few weeks you will know what he is going to say next and it becomes much easier. The variety of exercise programs are great. The boxing program is fun, you will look forward to it each week. The only program I struggled with was the Yoga. I hated it because 1) it is boring and 2) I have zero balance and kept falling over. Other than that all of the other programs are great. The stretch program is great to do every day and the abs one is good too, but tough. Go at your pace. You will not be dissappointed. Just remember the diet part of it.....very important. Don't mean to sound like an infomircial for the product, but when something is good you let other people know. Best of luck to you and all that try it.

      1) If you are self motivated...go for it.

      2) If you need somebody in your face to keep you moving, then get a trainer at the gym to help you.

      3) I agree with the diet suggestion above.

Depends on your goals. I would say if your just starting out for over all conditioning then it should work fine. How ever you will grow out if the routines very quickly as you progress. So a gym membership will serve you well in the up coming months.
try doing a search on here. www.bodybuilding.com

I started the program yesterday with Kenpo X, that was a great workout. Just finished arms, shoulders, abs for today. Man am I going to be sore tomorrow.

So far I enjoy it, and I'm doing it with two co-workers who have been on it for about 6 months so I'm motivated to workout.

      p90x

I did it last year, lost 40 pounds...then I ruptured a disk in my neck, so in the middle of my second 90 run, I had to stop...I started again yesterday...Yoga is hard, I don't do it, i just do my treadclimber for 30 mins. The recover drink is awesome...I get their protein bars as well....the are the same price, maybe a littlw cheaper then out in town, but they taste 40x better! The work out does become addictive though...get it you'll love it!

I started with the slightly less intense Power 90 on 1/17/09 and in three months lost about 30 pounds, so I went forward with the P90X for another three months and lost an additional 10 pounds. The best tips for me came from the book regarding diet and time of the exercises. I've kept the 40 pounds off.

Great excercise program and I'm back working out with it again with better muscle definition as the goal this time. I liked it over the gym because I could work at my pace and not have to wait for any of the machines to open up on peak days and times and never got bored of any of the routines on it. Kempo was my favorite but once I got used to it, Plyo was fun too but ... oh man, it's tough.

I have been doing a few of the workouts over the past few months when I have some time. They are pretty tough, but I really enjoy them.
I haven't been following the program very closely, so i don't expect crazy results, but i have definitely seen improvements.

Proper diet is crucial for any kind of weightlifting , body building or weightloss. Supplements can only aid a proper diet.. The tuffest part of p90x is doing it at home.. Any kind of workout at home is harder because of the motivation factor and commitment.

Buddy of my who was a power lifter for a while did the program... in the first 30 days with intense diet and continued weight lifting, he lost 17lbs and a total of close to 30 after the whole program... he was huge before because he needed the mass for lifting, then he just got shredded... Id love to do the program sometime soon after seeing his results
