Good place to start...?
Where to begin...I guess that's a good theme for this post. I plan on making major modifications to my '67 Mustang Coupe, but am not sure what would be best to start with.
The car is up on stands and only has a few parts left to unbolt before it's an empty shell. This is not my first rodeo, but it's the first time I've been able to start from scratch and not have to worry about keeping the car on the road or finishing by a set date. Here are a few needs & ideas that I want to incorporate into the overall picture, so please give any input you think would be of help:
Needs:
- Fix poor repair job to right-front (inner fender/radiator support)
- Replace floorboards (cut out by previous owner)
- Replace part of trunk floor structure (bent fuel tank mounting area/minor rust)
- Repair or replace tail light & quarter panels (dings/cuts?/minor rust)
Ideas:
- Redesign cowl, dash & firewall assemblies
- Redesign front & rear suspension and sub-frame assemblies (also negates need to repair right-front)
- Redesign grille area (radiator ducting/brake cooling ducts/induction)
- Possible conversion to a dry-sump system
- Possible redesign & relocation of fuel tank
Thanks for your help!
