This happened earlier this summer. It's about an hour from me. John Ludwig, the driver of the car, got 3 years probation and 500 hours community service. (How F'd up is that?)

"There hasn't been a confirmation of how fast the driver was going. However, there is a 10-foot drop-off to the Bardsley's back yard, and beyond that there is a 6-foot-high fence. The fence was untouched and there aren't any tire tracks in the yard.

WYFF News 4 crews said it looked as if the car had been airborne for more than 30 feet when it hit the house."

So the question is, how fast would you have to be going to travel off the road, through a small field, airborne through a tree line, and completely through a house.

Reminds me of the article I read the other day about the guy who ran his Bugatti off the road into the water in Texas. People with money and no brains.

Maybe the corvette guy was "avoiding a pelican" too?

I love that, in that other thread, someone is trying to convince everybody that this could have happened with the 'vette going the speed limit and the damage only looks so bad because it's all fiberglass and carbon fiber.
