      1969 camaro Project Red Bull

Thought It was time to move my car to the project folder

Well after upgrading tires/wheels, headers and exhaust today I started on the big brake upgrade. I very quickly found out I need to upgrade my wheel studs.

Can someone help with changing from the 7/16 to 1/2 with a 1/2" more threads. Anyone done this would you have the part number?

Here is the before and after of the front brakes. Still need to add the brake adapter plate.

      Thanks,
      John

Don't know if that's what you're looking for, but you can call Tobin at Kore3 and he should have an answer for you.

Thanks JC those are some long bolts. I would say no. I think you can just knock out the 7/16 and replace them with the 1/2 version.

But want to check first. I can call Tobin tomorrow.

Ok after a few hours of searching I found that my car OE studs are Dorman 610-259. These are 7/16-20 RH thread, have a .475" knurl diameter, and are about 1.75" long.

If I stay with 7/16 studs I can go with a Dorman 610-157 which will now be 2.125 long and give me the extra lenght needed.

Thought I would share this with others

JC Tobin hooked me up today with the bolts. He has them at the 2.125 which will work out.

For those DIY out there I down loaded the PDF of the C5 13" bracket which is out there. well it does not fit! So I made a new one today which works great. here it is, I also added a cross hair to make it easy to find the center of the hole

      Update

Put the new front end springs arms shocks and brakes waiting on new sway bar. I like now the stance.

      Thanks Tones2ss

Working on fixing my brake problem. I have no pedal :(

Fronts bleed out fine but the rears which I did not change are not bleeding out. So tomorrow I need to check that.

Thanks for the help on this forum. Installed the 4-link, frame connectors and install a posi with 3.73 gears Do I really have to wait 500 miles before testing it? lol Put the first 30 miles on the rear then let it cool down. No nosie or vibration Just need to fix the exhaust now..

I used the TCI setup. I'm happy with the product, however, not happy with the customer service. Long delays, ship your order with missing part and backorder parts without telling you.

BTW I also finished the exhaust. I was able to fit it over the rear
