      Stock Frame Idea

Ok dont flame me but I was wondering if it would be possible to cut out the center support on the front sub frame where the engine mount and where the basic suspension and build a kmember like they do on fox body mustangs?

      Thanks

You mean as in a tubular piece? It would certainly cut down on some of the front end weight. If it was engineered right I wouldn't see why this wouldn't be a good thing.

that would not be stiff enough, too many bolted pieces, if it was a unibody that would be ok.

      Banks turbo 69

Check out the turbo 69 that was built at Gale Banks shop.
They set the engine back and made a removable center cross member that could be removed to change the pan or inspect bearings and such. The entire car is quite a piece of engineering. But yea, you can cut up anything. http://www.bankspower.com/camaro-Framework.cfm
