Thread: Eleanor?

04-17-2005 #21I hope that is meant sarcastically... because think about it for a minute. If every Camaro had a 4" cowl hood, big ass fender flairs, a huge '70s IMSA front air dam, and was painted hugger orange with black SS stripes and had the same American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels. Sure, the first one would probably be neat... but the rest? And then imagine every Firebird owner started painting their cars the same way and using the same wheels and doing the front dam, but not the hood or the flairs (and people then started confusing Firebirds with Camaros)... You might get sick of it all too, even if they were all really "well done".

personally i don't have a problem with the few "eleanors" that are bui;t just like the movie cars with the smaller hood "dome" and the right wheels and the right gas cap it's the supposed "shelby built" cars from unique performance that i don't like, the fit and finish is crap the ugly ass huge hood dome and the cobra fuel filler that sticks out like a wart from the side of the body. there are actually very few cars that are built true to the movie car and those i don't have a problem with, just like there are very few car that are built true to the car in Bullitt and i never get tired of seeing those. i'm actually kind of surprised that nobody has combined the two, that would be a cool looking car
