I had the gear ratios worked and a fresh rebuilt from a former Team Penske member so all is in good order.

      Trans came in today:

here it is after an hour of cleaning and some engine enamel:

only what... 4 months till I get to use it :(

Here are a few more pics:

      one for scale:

      Here are the gear ratios:

1st is actually 2.26 and second is 1.52

I realize 1st gear is long -but this is not a "out of the hole" car and fig I'll have 400+ rwhp/rwtq

I have always liked the FC body style, I would love to have one with an LS2.

Yeah , it wasnt as hard as I thought it would be. truth be told the only cutting on the car was for the shfter.and that was bout a 2"x 1" piece. i GrannySpeed makes a kit now for the rx-7. Had to have custom headers made. other than that very cool swap. I also have a guy in my car club that does have an ls2 swapped fd . just hit Pittspeed.com and do a search there is a build thread. if you need any help.

So after a bit of research I decided to go with a quartermaster bellhousing and TOB:

      ordered them today ;)

FYI guys that are sick of GM's crappy TOB can go with the QM unit above.

Got mine for just under $200
