      Pro-touring bruises.

I was looking through my photobucket pics and found some pictures of my daily s-10 and I thought I'd share.

I was driving my s-10 (not exactly pro-touring but I'm working on it)on some backroads at about 3 am with my buddy. (I work nights so I usually keep my schedule on my days off) I had lowered the truck some and did a few little upgrades to the suspension so we decided to try it out on some of the twisty roads. We were doing about 60 on a road where the speed limit is about 45-50. We took a corner and right out of the corner we had a meeting with a massive doe. I locked both front wheels up and slammed right into it.... Here are the pics.

My friends thought it would be funny to sign the smashed fender like a cast until I got time to fix it.

How about you guys? Anybody else wreck out their pro-touring cars/trucks or have any carnage you'd like to share?

I bet so. It is for me too. My truck looks like it has a black eye in that last picture. I just thought someone else has some wreck pictures out there.

I've been killing a lot of cones lately, but no sheetmetal damage as a result of my P-T excursions...

eh....that'll buff right out. Hey, I had one of those lil trucks. Makes for an easy 350/700R4 conversion. A 9" out of a 78 Ford Grenada will sit under there once you cut off the spring perches and replace them with a set from a chevy spaced for the leafs under the S-10.

check your PM's for a vid.....

Thanks for the video John. Hopefully mine will do that someday. I need to look into that 9" set-up.

This happened before my car was "PT"

Since then, I've gotten a couple "outie" dings on the other quarter from stuff shifting in the trunk (stupid hurts) and a whole bunch of cone marks in the paint, but those buff out.

Wow! I bet that was pucker time there! Not to belittle it, but you got lucky on that one.
It could have come in thru the windshield, that is when it gets really nasty,
specially if it is still kicking, trying to get out, and you're still driving, trying to stop.
Nice truck BTW, that should be a lot of fun!

Thanks. I really lucked out for how low the truck sits your right it could have come through the windshield. I see that alot around here.

Derek. That Chevelle made me cringe.

454bug. I have seen those pictures before but that is definetly gnarly.

Well as for the coyote I think he got the worst of it in that one.
As for my Monza That is after removal of the engine trans combo, selling engine.
And Now get this If the remains of the right front fender were removed the right side door would have fully opend and it closed and latched, AND THE WINDSHIELD WAS NOT BROKEN NOR CRACKED!
Only glass damage on that car was when my tool box, loose in back hatch bounced up and caused rear hatch glass to shatter.
And all that carnage wa from a blown tire, over correcting and the right side "frame rail" taking a head on with a 6in tree in a fence row.
The distance from the "frame rail" to the fender lip is all I missed to simply go off the road through a fence row and do no harm to car!
Spindles are now on Cheap Trick Monza an it will also use same s10 rear end albeit with new prototype 4 link suspension, and the same headers, and most likely the the same TCI TH350 trans too.
Oh but the car looked much nicer before.
