      Clutch adjustment for TKO

I started my car for the 1st time and when I put in gear which is hard to do and let the clutch out it barely turned the wheels. I know it is out of adjustment so I guess the only way is to adjust the pivot ball on the Lakewood bellhousing, mine is an adjustable pivot. Is the only way to do this is remove trans and what is the standard amount for the ball length or whatever and where to measure to get the proper amount so I only have to do this one more time? Newbie!!
      Thanks,
      Greg

General rule of thumb is you need between 1/8" and a 1/4" gap between the face of the throw out bearing and the fingers on the pressure plate with the clutch pedal all the way out at the rest position (up against the rubber bump stop).

On a GM car with a SB motor or BB motor (read non -LS), this equates to 4- 3/4" from the back face of the engine block(where the bell housing bolts up to) to the tip of the pivot ball.

Do I need to pull the trans to adjust the pivot ball, it looks like there may be room to adjust or maybe not?

You will need to at least back the transmission up enough to get to the back of the ball stud. Whether you can get to the adjusting nut through the fork hole opening of the bell or not, I don't know.
