      homemade engine plates

      Hi guys,
Im putting in a LS1 and 4l60 into my 69 camaro.
My goal is to fab my own engine adapter plates for the camaro's stock mounts. I decided not to buy a set because I would like to keep my newer drive shaft that I had made for the 700r4 that just came out. I think this can be done as long as my eldelbrock headers dont hit anything.

      Long story short....
I see all these mounts out there with a countersunk bolts. Do you know what size bolts are needed to thread in to the block? I guess I can get them from MSCdirect if not locally.
Has anyone had any luck making there own plates? Im using 1/4" plate steel.
      Thanks!

I've made them succesfully with a TRUMPF laser but for the effort just purchse the Edelbrocks. They come with all the fasteners and arent that expensive. Just my two cents..

I dont mind buying them as long as it puts the tail shaft at the same location. I really don't even know if thats possible.

If you're using Edelbrock headers then use the Edelbrock plates, the two are made to work together and keep the engine and trans in the stock location.

They only cost about $70, make it easy on yourself.

Oh I did not know it leaves the engine in a stock location!
I thought it pushes it back a inch. I have edelbrock headers & autokraft pan.

Cool, that should allow me to keep my drive shaft!
      Thanks
