overheating!!!! HELP!!!!

camarokid, you say the fans come on right away after you start. Do you have a check engine light on? The PCM defaults to fans on as soon as it has a trouble code. Do you have the PCM controlling the fans? Have you had it scanned to see if the PCM is reading the same temperature as the gauge? The PCM normally activates the fan off of the sensor on the front of the water pump. Just trying to give you other things to think about.

I wireed the fans to comeon right away, ive had issues with temp sensing fans.
I have no check engine lights because this lt1 t56 is a swap into my 69 camaro. The fans are on a seperate system and thus are not controlled by the computer.
The temp sensing unit is a heat sensitive gauge and is a mechanical unit so the computer wont have any issue with that.

so i kept trying to get out that pesky air bubble by running the car with the cap open. Alot of air come up over the course of 10 minutes or so and the thermostat stayed at 225 degrees the whole time. After about 10 minutes i shut her down and replaced the car. Let her sit for a few then turned her back on and she shot up to 240 in just a minute or two.

I think im just gonna have to give in and take her to a shop and have them do the (for lack of knowing the name of the term) pressure vacuum coolant install thingy.... yes, thats a technical term haha

Autozone will let you borrow a pressure tester for free.....

yeah the autozone tool rentals was what i was thinking of this afternoon at work after i called a few places and they all wanted up to 180+ to "diagnose" and flush my system. I dont even have 180 in my bank account.... stupid college student syndrome!

anyways, i have tomorrow morning off so i will get the tool and get to work and hopefully post up some solid results because my baby needs to be driven... its been 3 months!!!!
