      t56 question

      i have a lt1/t56. can i use it with my ls1 engine?

      for sure you have to change the bellhousing, I also believe the input shaft is too long and that will have to be changed as well.

      Could you put a spacer between the bell and the transmission? What about the differences in clutch actuation?

      Think you also have to change the mid plate and then get it shimmed correctly for the difference in length.

      i need more information about this swap before i begin looking for a ls1/t56. what parts are needed, how much will it cost, and how to do it?

      Yes the bellhousing, mid plate, and input shaft are all different on a LS1 T56.

      Tyler would know of any other ideas on adapting the trans. A SBC/BBC bell housing will bolt to a LS1 but the flywheel is in different location, automatics have run adaptors.
