      Starter 68 Firebird

I've been looking for a 1967 or 1968 'Bird for a while now. I found this one on Craigslist. Most of the metal is new(hood, trunk, front & rear quarters, wheel wells, door skins), the interior is in good shape and the paint isn't too bad . I've already got chrome bumpers on the way as I think the black looks redneck. I'm also going to replace the trim (back to stainless), mirror, door handles, badge it as a 400, lower it and put on some nice rims (Thinking Vista or Twisted Vista by Intro). The motor is nothing to look at either, so I'll get it sorted out as well. All in all, a nice start. Something I can cruise around in as I fix it up. If you go to the website for Matts Camaros, click on their cars, and look at their '68 vert, you'll see exactly where I'm going with this. That car is my inspiration.

      Nice car!

Usually I like the body-colored front bumper. But with nearly all the chrome and trim painted body color (and black to boot) I have to agree it doesn't look right. I bet if you threw on just the rear bumper, mirror and door handle, it'd look good.

So where is this Matt's Camaro website? I tried to find it, but couldn't.

T_Raven: Thanks! You've got a shed full I see. Can't wait to see what you do with them. Interesting stories behind them too!

P.S. I think a red H.O. stripe would compliment the car nicely.

If you want to copy Matt's, your going to need a sawzall.

I really like the "murdered out" all black look. the only thing that car needs is lowered, cooler wheels, and some sort of red stripe.

      BADASS CAR!!!!

We think alike. I was thinking that once I get the other stuff done, I'll have somebody photo chop it in and see if I likey.
