      Fuel pump hitting the block

I tried to install a Holley HLY-12-834 fuel pump on my 350, but the lever arm is hitting the block inside the cavity. The push rod is all the way up (I even tried to install it with the rod removed) so its definitely an issue with the lever arm hitting the block. Does this fuel pump require a thicker spacer plate between the block and fuel pump.

Comparing the new pump to my original one, the new pump has a "hump" on the lever arm near the top, where the old pump was relatively flat. This "hump" on the lever seems to be the part hitting the block.

I can probably force it to fit by prying the pump into place and tightening the bolts, but its going to constantly hit the block when its running. (Probably not a good idea...) Has anyone else had this problem?
