      cam???

I have a 1970 chevy 355 4bolt Lt-1 motor that I bought used. The guy put this cam Lunati Street Master cam 08101 and a torker 2 intake 882 heads with shorty headers? What kind of power am I looking at and should I change anything? The car is an 87 monte carlo ss aero coupe with a t-5 trans and 3.73 gears. Will this cam be ok? The car is weekend driver. Future heads with be trick flow and I thinking about changing the intake to a performer air gap. thanks Rob

That is A LOT of cam for a street car. Especially with the 106 Lobe Separation.
If you want to keep that cam, the Performer intake is completely wrong, the intake will die right about the time you get into the cam.
Do you know the compression of the engine?

that's a lot of cam like he said..

even for the other mods you're gonna do.. You can get a away with it being a little over cammed since you have a clutch.. but that's exsessive..

that cam would work well in say a 11:1 track 1, ect motor..

The 882 smog heads are very low performance and will hold up air flow. There are really affordable aftermarket heads that will come out of the box ready to run and handle your cam. The magazines use these heads to show how good aftermarket heads are. It is like using a Yugo to show how fast a Viper is.

So should I go with a victor jr intake and the trick flow super 23 street/strip head? Run a 4.11 rear to stay in the cam rpm range. Or just start over with a more street friendly cam? The car is not a daily driver. I might put 3,000 miles a year on it. thanks for your help Rob

11 to one with the 882? that's a pretty big dome..

do those mods and knock the cam down a notch and i'll be a lot better on the street.

I'm going to break it down to a short block and build this thing the right way. I would love to know what he was thinking when he was building it. (heads intake ect.) And this was done at a machine shop.
