9"
Looking for a 9" for my 70 chevelle, what do I need to look for as far as years/models to stay away from? any sugestions are appreciated.

Honestly, any 9" housing you manage to dig up won't go into an A-body without spending a lot of money on it.
I'd buy a new A-body 9" housing from Moser all ready to bolt right in along with the axles.
From there you can shop for whatever center section and brakes you want to go with it.
Shopping at the junkyard probably won't save you any money, at least not on the housing since it will need the A-body suspension and shock mounts welded to it.Bart F.
