My mouth wouldn't stop salivating the 1st 10 or 15 times I watched that video! hahaha I had never seen anything like that back then!!!!

And I'll likely be looking to 400/4sp this one when I get it. The worn out 350/powerglide setup isn't enough for my tastes...lol

      Just a little update....
With the way my economy is right now.....
The turbo setup pings like a bear under boost (91 octane).....

Sooooo, I'm planning on pulling the turbo and replacing it with an Arizona Z car intake that uses the Holley 4v that the turbo has now.... Add headers and I can continue to sort the car while I try to save for the V8 conversion (damn economy).....

But at least I'll be able to do some autox and stuff....

Super cool find, it does look like it came out of a time capsule.

With the ping, have you made sure the waste gate is still operating properly? I would check that to make sure its not frozen shut. That engine would be a dog without the turbo....

      Thanks for the input guys...

A LS engine is a dream that I hope to fulfill in the near future....

Jon, I haven't looked that close at the waste gate yet..... I was told that with the draw thru system I wouldn't want to do any kind of autox/ track days with this system.... Visions of major engine damage were discribed... Sooo, I have concentrated on going NA so 's not to worry about it....

Jeromio, your car and others, both here and at hybridz.org are what keeps me working on it...

Cool Project! I've got my eye on a local 240Z that is being parted out (not planning to use any of the stock Datsun stuff anyway). I have had the JTR swap book for about 7-8 years now!!!

The ping is gone.... Sold the turbo today... Next week we tear it out and then I can afford to buy the 4v manifold and header....

In High School I got a ride in a 240Z I wanted to buy. And it was Bad A$$. It was the straight 6 with triple webers and it flat out hauled. I was amazed how hard it launched with a 6 cyl carbed engine. Looks to be a awsome build!!
