      Oil from breathers

i have oil coming out of my breathers on my valve covers. one side it lightly spraying on my firewall and the other side is dripping on my headers. what the heck? the motor is new, valve covers new and they have baffles.

      Are you running a PCV?

A little 'dew' is not uncommon, but a spray or enough to run down the valve-cover is not. You may want to do a cylinder leakage check to look for ring blow by. If it's just a bit of dampness and not a drip/run, removing one breather and adding a pcv can be a good thing.

Also, just another though, if you have the breathers at the back of the engine I have seen oil accumulate and come out them. Also spray from the rockers can cause problems if the valve covers don't have baffles. -Dan

i'm assuming you don't have a PCV since you say they're leaking on both sides? a PCV will help pull the crank gasses out. also, you might just have to wait for the piston rings to break in, depending on how new the engine is.

The PCV should fit things, if it doesn't there are some other (more expensive) tricks to help.
