700R4 help
I just rebuilt my 700R4 Billet servos .500 boost valve low and res. boost valve and trans go 2-3 shift kit. I have rebuilt a few 700's before but they were all stock app. i followed the trans go shift kit instructions for the auto setup where you can manual shift it or just put it in drive. Ever since i put the shift kit in it will not shift out of second when it tries to go into 3rd it like it's in neutral and then you coast and then it will down shift back to second when you have slowed down enough any help and or idea would be great.

It feels like it's going to neutral or does it drag?
TransGo had a foul up on the instructions on some of those kits. Hole G, did you drill it?
It's not very clear on some of the instructions and if you didn't drill it, you get a bind up on the 2-3 shift.
If it neutrals, it's probably kicking off the band and the 3-4 clutches aren't coming on, returning the trans to 1st.
08-25-2009 #3I'll take a look when i get home my trans is an 87 up VB type 2 with the Aux. VB. But if it was in the instructions i would say i did drill that i will double check thou tonight when i get home.

The instructions are vague about the G hole, if you read them wrong it will seem like you only drill the G hole for the non-aux VB models.
It doesn't specifically say to drill it for the Aux VB models in the step by step, but it shows it on the picture.
It can be confusing and I had one get by me awhile back, it had a bind up going into 3rd. Easy fix but it took me a couple of days to figure it out, and TransGo has had issue with it.
Apparently it was fixed on the newer instruction sheets.
08-26-2009 #5I see what you mean. I looked over the instructions last night didn't get a chance to take it a part though. But i don't remember drilling that hole at all now i just have to find my drill bit, but if i can't what size do you recommend i use if i can't find the one from the kit. Thanks for all the help so far.
