      Pushrod problems

Do solid lifters need a longer pushrod,i thought i could reuse my hydraulic rods but now my roller rockers are bottoming out!The cam is a comp cam(12-609-5)the lifters are(813-16)They look like they sit deeper in the pocket, are these the correct ones for this cam or will i have to buy longer rods!!The moor is a 355 chevy.

I know hydraulic roller rods are shorter than solid roller rods, for sure.

You need to get a pushrod checker from Comp before you attempt to guess the length. There are too many variables involved to calculate the length. The checker is not expensive and will let you determine the needed length easily. The only issue is you need to get in the correct range so you know which checker to use.

To answer you question though, yes, the push rods need to be longer.
