      Which 6.2 has VVT ??

      Hey guys ,

I have a customer that wants a performance version of a 6.2 LS series engine with Variable Valve Timing and / or Active Fuel Management and / or Flex Fuel capability.
This customer is actually wanting to upgrade a 2009 Police Package Tahoe to a VVT / AFM / Flex Fuel 6.2 liter.
I don't know if all that can be done.

I work for a Chevy Dealer and I don't even know if an engine is made with all those features.
I know some of the later Cadillac Escalades had an L92 6.2 with VVT.
And the new Camaro is available with th L99 6.2 with AFM.

I just can't get a decent answer from GM on an engine with all that.

      Any ideas ???

      I've gathered that :

The L9H 6.2 from the 2009 Yukon and Escalade has VVT and Flex Fuel , but not AFM.

The L99 6.2 from the Camaro has VVT and AFM but not Flex Fuel.

Some of the VVT L92s are flex fuel, others are not. I recall that the 8th VIN digit reveals the flex fuel... trying to remember what it is for flex. I'll post it if I find it. But the L92s do not have AFM.

You could always try Mast Motorsports, they sell drop in performance L92's.

I have one L92 engine right now, almost certain to be the last ever, and 3 L76s. Don't know what exactly your friend is looking for, but we just did a L76 with a cam and springs, eliminated the VVT on it and make 425 at the tires! SO she is well inoto the 500 to 515HP flywheel power.

A L92 will easily put 450 to 460 to the tires.
