I forgot you were running fiberglass. I was thinking about just bending it and you wouldn't need it, but that really won't work for fiberglass now will it?

Also, I was thinking the other day, you should run your car in the american iron series. The rules are fairly lax, but you might have to run a restricter plate.

most paints are pretty flexible. especially new ones designed for plastic cars. I have twisted plastic bumpers all around and it doesn't crack, I think you should be fine.

On your tank, are you going to run a puncture proof bladder? I know fuel safe will sell you just the inside for custom applications.

Thanks, but I dont think I am experienced enough to drive in AI or AIX.

I am still undecided about the fuel cell and bladder. I plan on reading up on all the specs for all the different classes I might run, NHRA, SCCA and NASA for HPDE, and maybe some silver state runs. Fuel safe has a drop in tank for my car but a 1000 dollars is way more than I want to pay.

The seal kit from products engineering installed easily. Tonight I will hook up the pump and start the car and see what breaks next!

I drove it up the street and made a u-turn. I need to inspect everything and check fasteners then I will push it harder and harder then some track time.

Sounds like progress! Mine just hit the ground after three weeks on jack stands; unfortunately, there has not been improvement beyond this state of non-movement... I get the sense we're all looking forward to video of your car busting cones, or at least doing smoky donuts in an empty parking lot. Here's to kinetic, versus potential energy!
