      Need advice asap

I have been lurking on here for a while now, but dont really post much. I have a dilema that I need to make a decision on.

I have a 1989 Mustang GT, that I have roughly 35k into, 46.5k including the car itself...

I want to build a pro touring car out of 67-73 camaro with an LS1 Drivetrain.

I have been trying to get rid of the Mustang for a while now and I have an opportunity to trade for either a 99 Corvette with 70k, basically stock, lowered, intake, 150 shot on it, automatic (not a big fan of autos)

or a 1987 Grand National GNX, with 20k, nice car, original car, some upgrades..

OR, I keep my car, which is a beautiful car, but its past the point of no return almost with the track setup, and I dont know how much interest I still have in it. It has a lot of money into it.

If I sell the Mustang straight up in this economy I will probably only get 15-18k for it. I need some advice here. I do not like having a car that everyone else has either.

      What do you guys think.

Keep the Mustang and set it up for the street
Trade for the Corvette, and then trade that for a 67-73 camaro
      Trade for the GNX

See my other problem is that I know what I have and I know what I built here also. It is solid and I trust it, I dont want to get into a car that I am gonna have to dump a ton of money into it because it was driven into the ground....

Please give me your advice here, I am tired of thinking about it.

      Thanks Guys,

      Dan

I would keep the mustang. You will probably never recoup the cost to build it. And there is nothing that makes me more sick to my stomach that not getting what I put in it. I guess that is hot rodding though, it seems you never do.

Parts are plentiful and relatively cheap for mustangs. I think with tasteful mods you could give it a unique look. Another option is to transfer all of the fox body stuff over to another fox body, like a tbird cougar, there are a bunch. Just an idea.

What about trading the Mustang for the Corvette, Take out the LS Motor and Trans and sell/trade the Corvette shell for a Camaro?

      Just an idea : D

Thats not a bad idea. I like that. What would a 99 Vette shell go for though? I was thinking if I get the vette, trade it for the right camaro, and then get a hit 98-99 z28 camaro from the auction for like 2k and start from there.

GNX (if true GNX)...Hell, I would do it for a regular GN or maybe even a T-Type but thats because I love Turbo Buicks!

Your best bet is probaly to keep the Mustang, and start fresh with something else, as you can... just my .02!

If it is a true GNX w/ 20k miles it is worth at least as much if not more than what you have in the mustang

Trade for the GNX. Worth way more than the Mustang or the Vette. Probably $40-50k easy on a sale.

The 'Vette shell without engine still got alot of really nice parts, Like the suspension, interior, etc : )

Well, You could trade it for the GNX and sell it and buy all the parts + Your camaro, I think you will be better off with that : )

I am flying out there on Tuesday to take a look at the GNX, it looks like an amazing car through the pictures, but I have to take a look at it in person. I always saw the cars and never thought of owning one.... See my problem is that I can see myself buying one, and then throwin some money into it and being one of the few GNX touring cars out there. I have been looking on the web and they all look the same, and no one seems to mod them to much.... I love them because they are different, but no one seems to do anything. It is virtually impossible to buy a car and keep it stock for me...

if it's a real GNX, that's a hell of a deal. but make sure it IS a real one.

even if it's a regular GN, I'd pick that up in a heartbeat. everybody's got a Camaro or a Mustang.

Cool Guys thanks a lot. I am flying there Friday morning to take a look at it. I was also noticing a build thread on here with similiar style car.. I took a quick look at the Hotchkis setup for it as well, and it seems like a lot can be done.

The GNX engine would be a hoot in a Camaro.
