Another alternative for GM is to use the Pontiac G8 body. I have read reports that they are keeping the G8 line and making it the Chevrolet Caprice.

I have hung 2 of these 1 as a G8 and the other as a Cadillac CTS. They look pretty sweet on short track cars in person.

I basically stopped watching NASCAR when the COT took over. I already had started watching other shows over NASCAR when they went to the welfare points system(chase for the cup) and I raced NASCAR locally for 8 years. :bsjerk:

I hear ya' friend. I'm only interested in the Busch series and Trucks series. I love the local short track level of the sport and thats as far as I personally want to go. I enjoy repairing and building streetstock and sportsman chassis cars for real racers who do a lot of their own setup and driving. 90% of the guys you see on TV couldn't set the bumpsteer or pinion angle the car they drove to save their soul.

It's no where near the top photo. It looks like a COT with a Challenger nose and hood. Note the B-Pillar

Grand Am's Koni Challenge series . . . actual production based cars for the win.

Mustang is already there and Riley is working on the Camaro (hence the Sunoco liveried concept seen at SEMA.) If the Challenger could jump in too, it'd be the modern day successor of how Trans Am used to be.

I watched that race and sure as heck didn't see it. They did run a Challenger in the Targa Newfoundland that was painted to honor the Sam Posey car from the old Trans Am series.

Is this the car you're thinking of?

CoT, yikes.... I'll stick to watching WTCC and DTM thanks. Actually looks like something I can have in my driveway. Cant see why manufacturers are fielding CoT's when they dont get to promote anything but decals. This is the excact reason F1 is having a major rebellion against FIA and spec Cosworth engines, chassis parts etc.

      Other rides: 1969 Mustang GT1

      flipping sweet!!!

That was stupid of me, I saw Daytona and instantly thought of the Rolex 24. I didn't see the Koni race that took place there. It's too bad that was their only race. Maybe they'll be more prepared next season, or even make it in some of the later races this season.
