      GTO Wheels

BAD68GTO wanted to see his goat with some new shoes so here are some of the wheels he wanted to see. I have to say I am torn between the Delta's and Stinger's.

      Bonspeed Delta

      Boze Hi-Octane

      Boze Stinger

      Rushforth Super Spokes

Sorry for these last two I had to... uh get creative with the lips lol.

I like #3, they are a little less "blingy" than #2.

Thanks for the input guys, that is my GTO in my driveway. The car is sitting higher because I have 28" tall slicks on the back and the Photoshop will not be 100% accurate on height and such, but it gives an idea. I am going to run 18x10 rims on the back with DR's and 18X8's on the front, or maybe 18X7 on the front. Tires are Nitto 305/35 DR's on the back and 245/45-18 up front. I am 41 years old in a week or so and the car is mad fast, but not seeking to make it look like it pulled out of the ghetto with too much bling bling, just updated rims a bit and look kewl. My brakes are not all pimped out, and I have no plans on changing them as they work terrific as disk/drum. Drums are 1 ton Ford drums as it is a Currie 9" housing in the back, so almost afraid to show too much of the inside wheel wells. The last picture didn't come out good, it is the Bonspeed Superstar in black. Right now I have Centerline Autodrags and they look good, but I want to go to wider rim and my rear tires are smoked, so figured time for a change. My rims and tires are for sale for $500 locally if anyone want them and they look very good. Any suggestions, I am appreciative of and thanks in advance! Gary

I think a CCW drag pack would look good on there, I'll photoshop you one up in a bit.

Thanks much Bob, I need something to push me over the edge to part with some cashish-lol. I am not thrilled with anything as yet to be frank and I would love to be thrilled per se when I am parting with $3+K or whatever the total is-ha. TY Gary

Wow, I really need input here as I am lost and I have to buy tires ASAP as my slicks in the back just started showing cords-lol. #2 looks like my HRE wheels on my Viper and look great on black, but I don't want to look bling per se. My GTO is bad ass fast and I want it to be sinister and not all ghetto hooked up, dropped and I know some guys are into that not to sound offense, hell even the 30 series tires are a bit much for my GTO for my taste. I do drive this car around and sometimes take it on short trips, and anyhow not good at design stuff. I'm probably one of the more moderate guys on here for looks but it seems to get a good DR tire under there with options, one must go with 18's. Anyhow, additional input would be great and someone buy my old rims please :-) Seriously, anyone with an opinion or even another shop, please psot and thanks in advance. Right now I like the last one the best, the Rushforth Super Spokes ! Do you guys think 17x11 or 18x10 for the rear? The fronts I only want to go 6-8" wide. My rear wheelwells are stock except I did a little banging around years ago when I put big slicks in there and has to beat a few sections in and grind here and there, and I do not want to do major work fitting stuff.

I like #3 with either graphite or gloss black centers, I like #2 on your car, it has just enough details to look cool, but I'd even black out the rivets on that one. IMO

Gary, what's "mad fast"? And what's in the motor and driveline? Curious because I'm getting close with my build and just wanted to compare notes a little. I know what power I'm making (dyno completed) as well as what gearing, etc. Just wanted to compare to what you've got.

Thansk guys on the rim input, at this stage I am as confused as ever witht he rims. I am so ready to buy a set of 4 rims and tires frankly but I am just not "sold" per se on any of them yet.

wmhjr sounds like you just want some details on my 68 over and above my signature, for what purpose I don't know, but you can see my car online if you like gementerprises.com/cars.html

Well, they are nice, but not me really however a big TY for posting that! I think I don't want a really open wheel design. I also need a wheel that can take the car standing on two wheels okay under load and also look good. Since my car is black, I think I have a lot of options, but I am simply not a design person at all. I have killer HRE black bling rims on my Viper, but that is a different car. The only reason I think I am can get into some bad ass bling rims and still be okay in my GTO is that it is a bad machine, full 3" exhaust and 650 HP on pump and on NOS she will near the 950 mark. The car is also getting caged up and such, but right now I can't even drive it until I get these rims purchased-lol. I can buy a ton of stuff faster than I bought these rims, which is kind of sad.

Hey, like I said - what's the drivetrain and the motor build? I'm really curious. You got a dyno sheet? I'd like to compare notes. I've got a dyno'd pontiac stroker myself. Heavily ported aluminum heads, 11:1 compression, forged stroker crank, roller cam, .660 lift, ultralight I-beam forged rods, etc. I'm just a little under 600hp on the dyno w/28.5 deg timing running nice and cool. Tq about the same and never drops below 500lb through 6500. I'd like to see what's getting you 650hp.
