I'm curious how much of the $75K to build was perks from parts manufactures or for advertising.

      Why do you care???

I mean really... you make a statement like that when you really don't know **** about anything.

You sound a lot like the petty, bitter, jealous people I run into from time to time.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Just curious that's all. I'm not petty or bitter; jealous, yeah maybe a little. I love your car, you did a heck of a job on it. I couldn't imagine how you felt when it was rear ended, heck I felt terrible for you. When I worked at Delphi Electronics I was able to get some labor & parts that I normally wouldn't have access to. So good for you if you were able to get one heck of a car with help from other people & parts manufactures.

I've seen Bad Penny at Sema and saw it on the auto cross on Friday at Columbus.I can only hope my car turns out this nice. This car has been beat on and is still nicer than most full blown show cars. The Roadster shop vette was way over the top and cant be driven in the rain .In my opinion its cars like Penny that get driven hard and driven often that are real street machines.

Hey, it's just that I've been down this road before.. "You only have that car because you get free stuff!!!!" (insert stoping feet here. lol)

I would guess that I have $80-90k (too afraid to add up the receipts) into my car. But it would have cost maybe $140-150k to build it.

Some of that is luck, like getting a sweet paint job, seats and such from being hit (his insurance paid for that) and some are free of at least discounted parts.

Keep in mind that we are not given parts because we did a story.. we get parts so that we can do a story. After all, they don't pay me enough to buy all the parts to churn out the stories I'm assigned every month. Magazines are accelerated reality.

      Answer your question?

      Just returned from Goodguys.

With regard to Penny-The car IMO is so much nicer in person. Pics do not do it justice. And it is run hard like so many of the top quality cars.

Also-Forgelines are going on my next car. Sick wheels in person.

Hey Steve I'm going to need that part we talked about in Michigan. Shoot me a PM.

OH and as far as adding up cost of car, I did mine recently and have just about doubled what I originally planed on. Although I'm having twice as much fun

I couldn't image putting that much money in a car. My wife would have a fit. You are a lucky man to have an understanding wife, I assume you have a wife. LOL

Again, love the car, would love to see it in person some day. Sorry for the awkward situation. Didn't mean for it to sound like you took it.

Columbus was great! I was lucky enough to make a pass with Steve Friday morning. Penny is wicked on the track. I really wanted to make a run with Kyle as well, he was tearing up the track, but I got side tracked and never got back over there.

Steve, Thanks for tolerating my stalking and for the auto cross ride along. I enjoyed meeting and getting to talk with you.

I still can't believe it! What an incredible car and a stand up guy. For me it was the chance of a life time. Pretty awesome to say the very least.

Thanks again for making my day..... okay, year!
