      Wilwood?

      Hello
I have a 68 Chevelle. I have disc in the front and Drums in the rear, With hydraboost setup.
I'm debating on what to do.
I want to get the Wilwood 6 piston setup for the front and the 4 piston rear. But money is a little tight, so I was thinking about the 4 piston for the front & rear.

      Here's my questions.
How much of a difference (stopping power) is the Wilwood 4 piston w/ 12.19" rotor & the 6 piston w/ 13" rotor?

Should I leave it stock till I can afford the 6 piston setup?

      Thanks
      Rob

We can do a (6) piston 12.2" set up which is a real nice tweener. Gives you the big brake look and stopping power in a small brake price. As for stopping power, once a brake kit has the ability to lock the tires, the stopping power is there.

I agree with Frank...once you achieve lock-up torque, the ability to stop the car becomes more of a function of driving ability, suspension setup and tires than it does brakes.

If is was me and I were planning on taking the car to some open track days and such, I'd hold out for the bigger rotors since those should hold up better under harsher conditions. If you don't ever think you'll take it out for a track day, the "tweener" kit or 4-piston 12.19 kit may be plenty for your needs.

      It's what I does.

      Thanks, Guys

I plan on taking it on some open tracks, some drags & mostly street driven. I have the suspension setup. And I'm going to get wheels next 17X8 & 18X9.5.
I'm going to try to hold out for the bigger brakes. It just sucks I need rotors for the stock brakes. I hate spending the money for them and then a month or two later I buy the brakes I want.

What do you guys think about CCP Big Brake Kits?

      Thanks
      Rob
