      LS1 2 Be

I have an 80's regal in which im planning to drop an LS1 engine. i was wondering if the mounts for an 80s monte carlo with a sbc will work on my regal??since their both g body's. and will the Ls1 work on any transmission or do i need to have the 4L60E??
      -thanks

Mounts for a Monte Carlo will work in the Regal. However, the LS1 uses different mounts from the standard SBC.
The bolt pattern for the bellhousing is slightly different between the LS1 and SBC, but will work. However, you need some special parts to mount the torque converter to the flexplate.

If you are going to install an LS1 why would you not install an overdrive transmission? It would be simplest to install an LS1 with a 4L60E as a unit, with the computer.
